Metal Improvement
Company Acquires Roselle, NJ Heat-Treating Facility
The
Metal Improvement Company, a wholly owned subsidiary
of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, announced today that
it has acquired the commercial heat-treating business
of privately-held Ironbound Heat Treating Company in
Roselle, New Jersey.
Ironbound primarily services customers in New Jersey,
New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland in
a diversified market including tool and die, automotive,
aerospace and medical components. It has a customer
base is in excess of 1,000 and operates out of a 27,000
square foot facility employing approximately 25 people.
Martin Benante, Chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright stated,
"The addition of Ironbound builds upon our strategic
plan to continue to expand our network of heat-treating
facilities in North America by acquisition. Ironbound
not only gives us an additional heat-treating location
with significant sales volume, but also brings with
it a strong customer base to which we can offer other
metal treatment services."
Metal Improvement Company, headquartered in Paramus,
NJ, is a recognized worldwide leader in providing outsourced
shot-peening, shot-peen forming and heat treating. These
metal treatment services are provided to the aerospace,
defense, automotive, petrochemical, agricultural equipment,
power generation, medical and metalworking industries.
