United
Space Alliance Presents Certificate of Appreciation
to E/M Coating Services
The
United Space Alliance has presented E/M Coating Services
a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the
company's work in support of the space shuttle program.
Lloyd
Gregg, Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) Program Management
Director for the United Space Alliance, presented the
certificate to the employees of E/M Coating Services'
Hartford facility in recognition of their high quality
work and responsiveness. William Manginelli, Manager
of the Hartford facility, accepted the certificate,
which contains a small flag that flew on the last complete
mission of the Space Shuttle Columbia (Mission STS-109),
on behalf of the employees. Also representing the United
Space Alliance was Carol Farran, Procurement Director,
Doug Whalin, SRB Safety, Quality and Mission Assurance
Director and Gary Henderson, Assistant to the SRB Associate
Program Manager.
The
E/M Coating Services facility in Hartford applied Microseal®
solid film lubricant coating to door seals used on the
space shuttle. Microseal has proven effective in operating
in the extreme conditions and temperatures of space.
The facility also applied Lube-Lok® solid film lubricant
to spherical washers used for attaching the solid rocket
boosters to the mobile launch pad.
The
United Space Alliance, headquartered in Houston, TX,
