Metal Improvement Company Acquires Two Coating Service Facilities that Apply High Performance Coatings for the Automotive Industry

Roseland, NJ, May 10 -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation, the parent firm of Metal Improvement Company, has acquired two business units of Diversified Coatings, Inc. (dba Allegheny Coatings) of Ridgway, PA.

The two acquired facilities, located in Fremont, IN and Ingersoll, Ontario, utilize automated spray coating lines to apply high performance specialized coatings primarily to automotive components. The two locations will become part of the Metal Improvement Company. Although their primary business is the spray application of galvanic high performance coatings for automotive industry brake rotors, ball studs and stampings, these businesses also provide application services to the farm equipment, trailer, military, marine and construction equipment industries.

"The capabilities of these two businesses complement those of our existing North American coating services network. We anticipate generating synergies with our existing coating, shot peening and heat treating businesses in the growing transportation industry, as well as expanding the services currently offered to our existing customers," said Martin R. Benante, Chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright.

Metal Improvement Company provides precision metal finishing services, including shot peening, laser peening, coating services and heat treating, through a network of over 50 facilities in North America and Europe. Metal Improvement Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW).
