Metal
Improvement Company Acquires Two Coating Service Facilities
that Apply High Performance Coatings for the Automotive
Industry
Roseland,
NJ, May 10 -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation, the parent
firm of Metal Improvement Company, has acquired two
business units of Diversified Coatings, Inc. (dba Allegheny
Coatings) of Ridgway, PA.
The
two acquired facilities, located in Fremont, IN and
Ingersoll, Ontario, utilize automated spray coating
lines to apply high performance specialized coatings
primarily to automotive components. The two locations
will become part of the Metal Improvement Company. Although
their primary business is the spray application of galvanic
high performance coatings for automotive industry brake
rotors, ball studs and stampings, these businesses also
provide application services to the farm equipment,
trailer, military, marine and construction equipment
industries.

capabilities of these two businesses complement those
of our existing North American coating services network.
We anticipate generating synergies with our existing
coating, shot peening and heat treating businesses in
the growing transportation industry, as well as expanding
the services currently offered to our existing customers,"
