Metal Improvement Company Acquires Fort Wayne Heat-Treating Facility

PARAMUS, N.J. -The Metal Improvement Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, announced today that it has acquired Metallurgical Processing, Inc. (MPI), a major Midwest supplier of commercial heat-treating services primarily to the automotive and industrial markets. MPI has annual sales of several million dollars and services a broad spectrum of customers from its Fort Wayne, Indiana location. MPI provides a number of metal-treating processes including carburizing, hardening, and carbo-nitriding.

The purchase of MPI supports the Company's strategy of expanding the heat-treating segment of its business through acquisition. It adds an established market presence in an attractive industrial area.
